The changlings

Obake anthuriums are one of the most interesting Andreanums around. Obake means ghost or changling in Japanese and these anthuriums do exactly that - during summer they usually produce a standard coloured flower but during the cooler months they produce these magnificent large flowers that are half flower half leaf. Kaumana is one normal andreanum that can become quite freakish at times producing blood red heat shaped flowers for most of the year then all of a sudden can give us these blood red flower with magnificent green ears and tails!! Not all plants do it but when they do it is a lovely surprise.
